Dr. Janice R. Bellace
Associate Provost, University of Pennsylvania
In addition to serving as Associate Provost, Dr. Bellace is the Samuel Blank Professor of Legal Studies and also Professor of Legal Studies and Management at the Wharton School. In 1992, she conceived the idea for a unique undergraduate joint-degree program, and shepherded what became the Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business, a unique four-year undergraduate course of study at Penn that integrates business education, advanced language training, and a liberal arts education. Dr. Bellace received a J.D. in Law from the University of Pennsylvania.

Roland K. Bullard, II
President and Chief Executive Officer, FastShip, Inc.
Mr. Bullard joined FastShip in 1998, coming from a successful 30-year career in corporate and international banking, most recently as President of First Union's operations in Philadelphia and, previously, as Senior Executive Vice President of First Fidelity Bancorporation and Vice Chairman of CoreStates Financial Corp. Mr. Bullard received an MBA from George Washington University.

Peter P. Burns
Vice President and Director of Payment Cards Center, Federal Reserve Bank Philadelphia
Mr. Burns joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia in November 2000, and is responsible for the development and management of the Payment Cards Center. From 1996 to 2000 he was Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Center at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and continues to serve on its advisory board of directors. He has an extensive background in the financial services industry, having held a number of senior management positions during a 25-year career with CoreStates Financial Corporation and its predecessor, Philadelphia National Bank. Mr. Burns received an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Dr. Merritt T. Cooke
President & Chief Executive Officer, GC3 Strategy
Dr. Cooke is the founder and Managing Director of GC3 Strategy, Inc., an international consultancy that specializes in linking advanced technologies and capital between Asia and the U.S. He is also a Senior Fellow with the Foreign Policy Research Institute and a Senior Fellow in the Department of Management at the Wharton School. In addition, he is a Senior Consultant for Business Development in the Greater China Region for Targa Therapeutics Corp. Prior to founding GC3 Strategy and assuming his current academic positions, he was a Senior Officer in the U.S. Foreign Service, where he enjoyed a 15-year career. Dr. Cooke received a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley.

Dr. Sherrill M. Davis
Managing Director, The Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania; Managing Director, Penn Lauder CIBER
Prior to coming to the Lauder Institute in 1996, Dr. Davis served as a Branch Public Affairs Officer for the U.S. Information Agency in Korea, where she was stationed in Kwangju and then Taegu. Before joining U.S.I.A., she worked at the Asia Society in New York City, the Korea Institute at Harvard University, the Academy of Korean Studies in Korea, and the American-Korean Foundation, also in Korea. Dr. Davis received a Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University.

John B. Fetter
Founder and President, FSI Energy
Mr. Fetter is a founder and President of FSI Energy, an organization specializing in developing energy and environmental projects and implementing energy strategy and strategic management programs for client organizations. He has been a manager and consultant, specializing in energy and commercial development for over 30 years. Mr. Fetter received an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Harry G. Hayman, III
Senior Vice President and Group Head, Treasury Management-Global Services, PNC Bank
Mr. Hayman provides executive leadership for one of the fastest growing areas of PNC Bank. He is responsible for Trade Services, Trade Finance, International Correspondent Banking, and International Cash Management. He is also credited with the development and launch of the Strategic Partners Group, which provides third-party Treasury Management and banking services to financial institutions. Mr. Hayman completed the Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management program at the London School of Business.

Dr. Richard J. Herring
Director, The Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies; Co-director, Wharton Financial Institutions Center; Jacob Safra Professor of International Banking, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Herring has been Professor of Finance at the Wharton School since 1972. He is Co-chair of the U.S. Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee. His interests include the regulation of financial conglomerates, the development of bond markets, and the study of the value of liquid secondary markets. Dr. Herring received a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.

Dr. Stephen J. Kobrin
William H. Wurster Professor of Multinational Management, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Kobrin served as Director of the Lauder Institute and Chair of the Management Department from 1994 to 2000. He is a Fellow of the World Economic Forum. Before coming to Wharton, he taught at MIT's Sloan School and at the Graduate School of Business at NYU. In addition, he worked for Procter & Gamble as Brand Manager. Dr. Kobrin received a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Joann McCarthy
Assistant Provost for International Affairs, University of Pennsylvania
Before coming to the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. McCarthy served as the Dean of International Affairs at the University of South Florida. There she oversaw the Division of International Affairs, which encompasses Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the Center for Africa and the Diaspora, study-abroad programs, and services to over 2,200 international students and scholars. She was previously President of the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA). Dr. McCarthy holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida in Foreign Language Education.

Peter C. O'Neill
Executive Director, Center for Trade Development (CTD), Department of Community and Economic Development
As Executive Director of the Center for Trade Development, Mr. O'Neill oversees the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's export promotion programs,
services and network of 10 in-state regional partners and 16 foreign offices. Prior to joining the CTD, he was the Director of the State of Maryland's
Office of International Business. He has counseled the business community on international market opportunities and has led trade missions
throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Mr. O'Neill holds a Master's in International Management from the University of Maryland University College.

Kazumi Teune
Executive Director, Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP)
Ms. Teune has been Executive Director since 2001 of the Japan
America Society of Greater Philadelphia. The Society promotes exchanges
between Philadelphia and Japan in the areas of business, culture, and
education. Ms. Teune is credited with successfully launching an annual
seminar, the Philadelphia-Japan Health Sciences Dialogue, and the spring
Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia. She received
Master's degrees in political science and library studies from the
University of Hawaii and studied accounting at the Wharton School.

Congressman Weldon
Seventh Congressional District of Pennsylvania, U.S. House of Representatives
Congressman Weldon represents the Seventh Congressional District of Pennsylvania. Currently serving his tenth term, he is the most senior Republican in the Pennsylvania Delegation. A member of the House of Representatives since 1987, he has taken leadership roles on a wide variety of issues, ranging from national security to the environment.
A senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Weldon served six years as the Chairman of the Military Research and Development Subcommittee, overseeing the development and testing of key military systems, weapons programs, and technologies that fulfill military needs. He has used that position to become the leading House supporter of a national missile defense to protect America's families and communities. He now serves as the Vice Chairman of the full Committee as well as Chairman of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee.
